Anderson has a B I G family. We’re clocking in at 7+ grandparents over here. We also don’t live in the same country as the rest of our family. So I wanted to put together an interactive book, complete with pictures, to help him learn all about himself and his family.

Calm down glitter jar // I put together a calm down kit for Anderson that has a set of calm down strategy cards and all the materials he’d need to implement them. Whenever he feels like he needs a moment for some self-regulation he can go to the bin and find what he needs. These sensory glitter jars are in their too. It’s really calming to watch the glitter fall. You just need 1 cup of hot water, 1/4 cup of clear liquid glue, glitter and some food colouring (if you wish). Mix it all in a jar (and hot or super glue the lid closed because toddlers 🤷‍♀️). If your bottle or jar is bigger then just use the proportions of 1 part glue to 4 parts water. It works best with the jar if filled to the brim otherwise you get bubbles (which can be kind of cool too) forming.

Supply list for kid activities // you asked for the art supplies and activity staples I keep on hand. So here is the next list (with links) of the different materials I keep around the house for all our inquiry and play activities. It’s up on the blog so I could give you links and save you the step of having to google it yourself! I hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions!
Tin foil painting // tin foil adds an unique sensory experience to a traditional activity. The sound and texture of the tin foil adds a little something. I wrapped the tin foil around some cardboard recycle just to make it a little more sturdy for whatever a toddler decides to throw at it. Then put out some paint and get creating!
3 year milestone: 2-3 step instructions     
Snow painting // WE GOT SNOW. We never get snow. And we got SO much snow. So this morning (at 8am as @ecgemelas pointed out) because parenthood 🤷‍♀️ we found some bottles (spray bottles, squirting water bottles, even water guns would work) and filled them with water and food colouring. I did the primary colours (red, blue and yellow) so that we could mix them and make the secondary colours if we wanted l (green, purple, and orange). It was a BLAST.
